Watermelon and her littermates were part of a colony that another rescue was working to help spay and neuter. These adorable mini panthers showed a wonderful interest in people, so they were given the chance to find loving forever homes indoors — and this tiny girl has a HUGE personality!
Watermelon has completely stolen our hearts! She’s the shyest of the bunch and can be quick to hide when something goes boom. But check on her in her little cave, and you may get the sweetest response—she’ll gently place her paw on your hand as if to say, “It’s okay.” Once you bring her out and lay her onto your lap, her cautious side starts to melt away. Watermelon will roll over for belly scratches, settle in, and purr her heart out. She has blossomed into the sweetest little girl while still keeping her cautious, thoughtful nature. Watermelon is also highly motivated by treats! She absolutely loves Churus and Delectables bisque, and she’ll come out of hiding for them every time. When she thinks no one is watching, her playful side comes out too. She’ll bat ping pong balls and toy mice and play with her littermates like there’s no tomorrow, and she loves engaging with you if you use wand toys.
Watermelon may need a little extra patience and reassurance as she gets comfortable, but once she trusts you, she’ll show you just how sweet and affectionate she can be.
This crew has not been around dogs, but I think they would do fine in a home with dogs with slow introductions. Kittens do best with a buddy – Camp Kitten requires young cats to be adopted in pairs if there isn’t already a young cat or kitten in the home.
