Meet The Dactyls! Polly and Pterry (they ARE polydactyl; they are not, in fact, pterodactyls) joined Camp Kitten in September. They were part of an outdoor colony that another rescue TNRed (trapped, neutered, returned) in August, but since these two were still young, they hoped to socialize them, so placed them with a temporary foster before they landed with us!
While they are timid and take some time to warm up, they are curious, playful, sweet kittens! They both LOVE toys, especially ribbon/streamer toys. Pterry (orange male) is more outgoing than Polly (black female), but they both have their days that they seem more interested in attention than others. I think, once settled into their forever home, they will continue to come out of their shells and understand humans are good.
They have been exposed to my two small dogs and other cats while in rescue, so they would do fine living with other animals after proper introductions.
Their fecal sample tested positive for Giardia, so we did a course of medication to treat that and they are doing great!
And, being polydactyl, they have extra toes, so their paws look like little oven mitts!
