MORTICIA (“TISHY”)

Adult | Spayed Female | DOB 10/14/23 Domestic Short Hair | Black  | Adoption Fee: $250

Morticia has been such a wonderful cat. She came into rescue after Good Samaritans found her as a pregnant stray. She gave birth to three beautiful kittens (Gomez, Wednesday, and Pugsley) a few days after joining us, and was a terrific mama to them. They have all since been adopted into loving homes.

Tishy had diarrhea from day 1. I attributed it to being very pregnant. But it continued after she birthed the kittens and she ended up at the emergency clinic a few times, since she was having such bad tummy troubles and losing so much weight. She has been tested for EVERYTHING and ultimately we ended up bringing her into AERC to see a specialist and have an abdominal ultrasound completed. It turns out, she just had inflammation in her GI tract. We did a 6-week course of a fecal supplement the replaces the bacteria in her gut with a healthy microbiome and she has done beautifully; normal stool and gaining weight. She may need to do this again, someday, down the road, but it’s an easy solution to her issues. We have also kept her on a prescription GI diet, but that is something she may do fine off of, as well.

Tishy is so silly. Now that her kittens have moved out and she is feeling well, she is acting like a kitten! She loves to run around, play with toys, wrestle my other cats, slap my dogs 🙂 …she’s just great. She also loves snoozing on the couch with us – she likes to be around us, whatever we are doing.

I do think she would do best in a home with other pets. She sometimes can be bossy, so will need slow introductions and be with animals who are willing to take some of her sass.

Morticia is spayed, vaccinated (rabies and distemper), dewormed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and microchipped. She is being fostered in ANDOVER. If interested in meeting her, please complete an adoption application on campkitten.com .
