Mama Adelie showed up in a barn in Pine City where she soon birthed her litter of kittens. The owner had seen her – identified by her very distincitive face markings – on his trail cam for a few years, so we estimate she is a few years old. We took her and her kittens into rescue, so they can live the good life as indoor cats for the rest of their days!
Adelie is a VERY sweet cat. She was intiially wary of new people when she joined us in rescue, but she’s settled in beautifully and loves attention, treats, pets, and will jump in to play with toys with the younger kittens. She is happy to be a part of things and will hang out until someone wants to give her love. She is just really chill and lovely.
She has gained some weight since joining us, so might benefit from a more controlled diet (we’re feeding a lot of mouths around here!). She also has discovered she likes to find high-up, hidey spots. My unfinished basement has basically been a playground for her over the past few months. 🙂 But when she’s not exploring, she is such a snuggle-bug.
Adelie has done well with my small dogs and has been SO SWEET with all the other cats and kittens she has met here. I think she would adjust to a home with other animals with proper, slow introductions.
